Storytelling Advocacy Newsletter | Issue 02
Help us spread the word!
Dear Family, Friends, and Community Members! In less than one month, a team of high school students from around the world in partnership with Dagne Furth of New Day Storytelling Advocates and Jordan Hattar of Help4Refugees are traveling to Gaziantep, Turkey, to meet Syrian refugee families displaced by the recent devastating earthquakes. Upon arriving in Gaziantep, students will get to know these families' stories first hand and learn how to passionately advocate on their behalf through storytelling!
In preparation for our trip, we are rolling up our sleeves and vigorously fundraising across different continents to purchase two container houses and additional necessities for waiting families, totaling $12,500!
Each container house costs $5,000, is 7 by 3 meters in size, consists of two bedrooms, a small kitchenette, a stand up shower, toilet, and a sink.
Additionally, if you have a used working phone, laptop, ipad/tablet, or power bank, you would be willing to donate to a student or parent in need, please contact Dagne Furth at your earliest convenience.
We will be updating social media and our respective websites to show the tangible fruits of your generous efforts throughout our two week visit and beyond this June!
